Influence-
I dabbled in painting, on and off for many years trying different painting mediums but never really progressing very much and often losing my enthusiasm. Then I was introduced to the late David Rees, by his wife Ivy, whom I knew from church. Meeting Dave was a big turning point for me with regard to painting. Dave was a well known local watercolour artist and his passion for painting was infectious. Many people reading this especially from Coleshill and surrounding areas, will be familiar with Dave and his art. Many will no doubt have one or more of his paintings on their walls. Dave taught me much about painting such as the basics of colour theory and good composition, and encouraged me to develop my own style of painting. I would often show him my efforts at painting and he would give me constructive criticism on how to improve them.
Dave taught me much about the technical aspects of painting. But he also gave me a gift- a very special gift which I know he has also given to many others. It is the gift of Inspiration and love of painting, and it has brought me countless hours of satisfaction and enjoyment .
Thankyou Dave - I am so grateful for the inspiration you gave.
You will be sadly missed but never forgotten- God Bless You.
